"There's no point," he said taking a sip of the drink in his hand, "He's probably already lost all bladder control, no point in going any further with it." He tossed his drink in a nearby trash can. "Let's get out of here before anybody decides to get brave and stop us," he said taking her hand in his. There was no point in the two of them getting lost in the crowd fleeing the mall, that'd only cause them in more trouble in the long run.

The shadow finally let go of the man once he'd said that. Miley watched as the man scrambled to his feet and joined the crowd of humans fleeing the mall. She turned to John when he grabbed her hand, and there wasn't really anything she could do but follow him. "And go where?" she asked.

"We could go to my place," he said leaving the mall through one of the exits that everybody wasn't pouring out of, "Unless you had somewhere else in mind, umm... What was your name again?" It had taken him this long to realize that he hadn't asked Miley for her name yet. Funny, that was usually the first thing he did.

She stopped walking when she, too, realized that she hadn't given him her name...nor did she know John's. "Miley." she replied. "And...I don't have any other place in mind cause..I don't really have any other place to go."

"Alright, we'll just head to my place then," he said as they left the mall, entering the cold New York air, "I'm John by the way." He managed to hail a taxi in all the confusion that surrounded the mall, giving the driver directions to a place a few blocks away from the brotherhood house.

She nodded, letting go of his hand to zip her jacket up halfway. She followed him towards the taxi and got in after him, shutting the door and staring straight ahead for a moment.

The cabby pulled into the busy New York street, taking his passengers to the area John had instructed. John's hand was resting on his wallet as the cabby drove through the New York streets. It'd be a little while before they arrived at their destination, but he had pretty much nothing to talk about at the time.

She could hear some people yelling, but it grew fainter as the cab was driven away from the mall. It wasn't long before Miley couldn't hear it at all, mainly because she'd chosen to tune it out. She glanced at John, then looked out the window on her side. It was a slightly awkward silence, but she had no idea how to break it.

"So, how long have you been alone," he asked trying to break the awkward silence that filled the cab, though he wasn't too sure that it was the best question to ask at a time like this. But then again he knew almost nothing about Miley as it was.

She blinked when she heard John actually say something, and snapped back to reality. "Huh? Oh..." She thought for a moment. The truth was that she really had no idea how long it had been. It seemed like it'd been a lot longer than it was. "Um...a few months, I think. I'm not really sure."

"It's not so bad really," he said looking out of the passenger window on his side, "Nobody can tell you what to do anymore, you're your own person. Do as you please whenever you please." The one good thing about life in the Brotherhood, John did what he wanted, when he wanted, however he wanted.

What he said was true...she knew that, and agreed with it. It just kind of felt like something was missing, but she wasn't sure what. She simply nodded her head in agreement and looked out the window on her side again.

She realized what the problem was...the lonely part. That was it...she'd never really bothered to think about it. She glanced at the cab driver, who was watching them through the rearview mirror. She stared at him until he directed his attention back to the road, then looked back out her window. "Sure.."

"Okay, I'll see what I can do then," John said as the cab started to slow down as they approached the stop that John had instructed the man to stop at, "I'm sure he'll let you in when he hears about what you can do." The cabby completely stopped the yellow car and John stepped out of the vehicle, paying the man the fee he owed after the drive from the mall. He waited for Miley after he exited the car.
