"You don't have to be ashamed of yuor past, Peter," Jean said, emphasizing his real name. "I may well be, but everything has been written in the past, if you know what I mean."
And to Melinda,
"Okay. I'll see you inside then," she said, smiling.

"Sure thing, Melinda," Jean said. "Okay, then Spider-man. But you would let me call you Peter, at least privately. I don't really know why some mutants wanted to use their other name rather than their real name. Your name is lovely."

Melinda looked at them wondering why she changed his name. She shook her head and took of her trench coat and looked up at the sky and thinks olny if I could go home.

Spider-Man was shocked that Melinda didn't notice his sercreat idenity by now after Jean said it twice out loud''Man God must be on my side today;''Spider-Man said in his head''Well that's because I'm not a mutant I just have mutant spider cell in me but wouldn't that make me a mutant huh don't kno but professior X said I wasn't a mutant so I guess I'm not, and also I have family, and anybody can be lstening and if they find out my true self they'll be in danger not you or the X-MEN but me and them and I'm the only one who could protect them, because well I'm the olny one that knows how my villains think''Spider-Man said.

At the mention of the Professor, Jean turned away. She had killed him too, just like Scott. What she doesn't know that the Professor had successfully transferred his mind to another body, in Muir Island.
"I'm sorry," Jean said, wiping yet another tear. "I know you are not a mutant. But still, you have powers. You live here now, why not use your real name? Like us."

"Peter, Spider-man," Jean began, holding Spider-man's hand. "I'm sorry. I know that you have villains you fight. We're here if you want. We can help you. And I promise that, since your villains are humans, which we protect from the Brotherhood, no one will really get hurt."
