Powers: She can control sounds. She can alter her voice and the sounds around her in any number of ways, including changing her voice's pitch, and sounds around her using her mind. She can use an underdeveloped sense of echolocation, and can decimate objects, like trees and buildings, but only if she concentrates enough. She can also do this with an instrument, such as a flute or a piano. She can also affect the inner ear's workings using certain pitches unheard by normal human ears, such as disrupting coordination and balance.
Appearance:
Outfit: A light grey sweater, loose black pants, and black sneakers.
Personality: Kat is quiet, reserved, and even-tempered. She would rather be in a corner of a room reading than be the center of attention, or even in the center of a group of people. She isn't very confident when it comes to her looks or powers, but she has great potential.
History: Kat was born into the Michigan -breeder- program, like Sasha. She was born about the same time as him, so when they were sent to their holding cell, they were in there together. She never found out his name while she was in there, but found out that she didn't have the mutant gene and was to be sent to the furnace, like the rest. But, unknown to the scientists at the lab, a man by the name of Alphonse had been helping some of the children doomed to death by fire out of the place. Kat was one of the children he was able to help before he was caught and murdered. She found out through Alphonse the name of the boy, Sasha, in the holding cell with her, just in case she survived to meet him. He placed her in the care of his best friend’s family, the Barrett's. She learned nearly 10 years worth of school in two years before she was forced to leave the Barrett's. The Barrett's daughter, Carmen, who was two years older that Kat, was gifted in playing instruments, and taught Kat how to play while she lived with them. Kat picked up on playing almost too naturally, and preferred the flute and piano over any instrument. Kat enjoyed it so much, Carmen gave her a flute for a Christmas present, the first year she was there.
Alphonse was found out, and where each of the children he had helped to freedom was found out through the help of an unwilling telepath. Kat was one of the few that wasn't killed by the scientists "help". She fled, but was chased, and it was then that she found out her gifts. She was cornered in an alley by two of the guards, when she opened her mouth to scream and no sound that she could hear came out. Then, after a few seconds, the guards fell to their knees, disoriented. Kat escaped while they were trying to stand up. She fled and found other mutants, who told her about Xavier's School, and about Magneto, Phoenix, and the Brotherhood. She found out the location of Xavier's, and headed that way, still avoiding and evading the guards along the way.
Sample RP Kat was in an alleyway, hidden behind some trash cans and underneath some cardboard boxes. She was filthy, underfed, and sickly pale, but alive. That was the best she could be. She had made it to New York, New York, and was still being followed by those blasted guards. She was trying to get a little sleep in, while the guards weren't near. Suddenly, the noise of footsteps and the breaking of a glass bottle reached her ears and awoke her from her light nap. She tensed up, ready to run, and stayed completely still. Then, a drunken old man started talking to someone, and when no one replied, Kat relaxed a little. An old homeless man had wandered into the alley to find someplace to sleep.
"Thank God." She whispered under her breath to no one, and went to sleep peacefully.
