Melinda was sitting by the lake. Thinking about her father and being at the mansion and if she should leave. She looked up and saw some coming.

Joseph stood on the lakeshore in a pair of red hawaiian print swim trunks. He was ready to walk into the water when he hear a noise. He turned and smiled. "Are you following me Red?"

"Uh-huh, sure you are." he teased. He looked at Melinda wondering what in the hell she was thinking about. Everytime he met her she seemed to be thinking and frankly, she thought way to damn much. "Are you sure you weren't here to check out my perfect abs?" he asked.

"Trust me I didn't think anyone was here but me."Melinda said to Joseph as she stood up and took off her trench coat and there where still cuts on her arms. She sat back down.

Joseph laughed. "You ain't gotta lie to be down." He said as he walked into the water. He walked until he could barely touch the bottom then dove under the silk lake. He opened his eyes to a nothingness, a dark pit of nothing created by his fears. He moved his arms swiftly, cutting through the darkness and pulling himself to the top. He took in a breath when he reached the surface. "Come in here Red!" He yelled out to her.

"I can't I don't know how to swim."Melinda said to Joseph as she laid back and let the sun hit her. She closed her eyes.

"Your a Liar!" he called out. "If you don't get your ass in here right now, I swear I'll come out and get you!" Joseph's promises were never hollow, he always kept his word.

"I'M NOT LYING."Melinda yelled back at him as she continue to lay there getting a sun tan. Then she got up and took off her red skirt and had red shorts under them and laid back down.

Who can't swim?, Joseph thought to himself. He dove under the water and swam up to where he could touch the bottom. He walked out of the lake and right up to Melinda. He crouched down and without warning lifted her up and began to walk back to the water.

"Joseph let me down right now."Melinda yelled at Joseph as her eyes turned red. Then she heard her father's voice kill him. Melinda closed her eyes and the voice went away.

Joseph smiled, but didn't let her down. He got in the water with her, but stayed in the shallow end. He set her down in an area where the water barely met her waist. Joseph held onto her waist to prevent her from running. "I told you I'd get you in here."

"I'll protect you, Red." he laughed. He didn't believe her, but didn't feel like saying it out right as he normally would have. He was in the mood to flirt and Melinda was the perfect on to flirt with along with Peyson.
